Central Arizona and the Verde Valley

The natural environment of the Verde Valley is perhaps the most outstanding of its many attractions. We are blessed with a pleasant climate, open spaces, diverse vegetation and wildlife, and the Verde River with its associated riparian community. We are centrally located within easy reach of pine-covered mountains, canyons, grassland and chaparral. All these natural attractions, and the fact that we are on a major flyway, bring us a multitude of birding and wildlife watching opportunities shared by few other areas in the state. This area, well known for its scenic wonders, supports historic and cultural attractions to enhance any visit. We can also boast of the best in recreational opportunities and accommodations for our visitors. The festival is held at beautiful Dead Horse Ranch State park in Cottonwood.
